What the Safari extension does
Obsidian Web Clipper sends a webpage from Safari into an Obsidian note. Verify the current Mac App Store product, install it, enable the extension, and select a vault and template. Macworld describes its role as capturing web material in a Markdown-friendly form for use in Obsidian.
Verify the saved note
Choose a capture scope that suits the task: the full page, title and link, or a selected passage. Open the note immediately and inspect its title, source URL, images, and quotation. For research, add the date checked so the capture can be distinguished from later changes to the original.
Professional perspective: device differences
Stephan Wiesend observed more reliable clipping on Mac than on iPhone in his testing. That is a review-time observation, not a guarantee for every device or site. Pages behind a login or infinite scrolling can be incomplete, so compare important records with the original.
Sync and citation limits
A clipper does not verify quotations or permanently archive a website. Respect copyright and site terms, and save only what you need. If sync matters, confirm that the note was created in the intended vault and that your current Obsidian sync setup transfers that file.
