Check the extension for your installed version

In Power Automate Desktop, open Tools > Browser extensions to install or check the Edge extension. Microsoft documents that Edge, Chrome, and Firefox extensions are included with installations from version 2.27 onward. Older versions and managed computers may use different steps, so check the current product documentation.

Run the flow in the same user session

Create a small flow with a browser-launch action and open a test page. Power Automate Desktop may not attach to a browser opened by a different Windows user than the one running Power Automate. If the browser opens but elements are not available, check that the extension is enabled and permitted in that browser profile.

Verify a harmless action

On a read-only test page, run an element-selection action and confirm that the browser instance connects and the expected text appears in the result. Page structure and security policies can affect selectors. If it fails, record the flow error, browser version, and extension state to narrow the cause. Validate in a test environment before entering production data.

Check

Are the extension and desktop-flow versions compatible? Are the browser and automation using the same user session? Did a read-only test locate the expected element?
