Install and run a simple check

Install Grammarly for Edge from the official support flow and pin it to the browser toolbar. In a blank test document, enter an ordinary sentence and check whether a suggestion appears; compare the sentence before and after applying it. Do not assume every editor or field supports the same features.

Turn it off on selected sites

On a site where you do not want suggestions, open the Grammarly extension and choose the control to turn Grammarly off for that website. Follow the current support steps, reload the page, and check that the widget or suggestions no longer appear. Labels and availability can vary by product version.

Decide what text to expose to the service

Grammarly’s privacy page says it analyzes text while a person is actively using a Grammarly product such as the browser extension to provide suggestions. For personal data, customer information, or unpublished code, do not rely only on a site toggle; check your organization’s policy and how the field is handled before typing. This guide makes no blanket claim about every product’s processing or security.

Check

Did the test sentence receive a useful suggestion? Is Grammarly disabled on sites where you do not want it? Have you checked applicable data-handling rules before entering sensitive text?
