Turn Dark Reader on or off for the current site
Open the extension from Edge’s toolbar and select Dark Reader. Check the top On/Off switch. Use Toggle site to add the current site to, or remove it from, the ignore list. A greyed-out toggle can mean the browser restricts script injection on that page.
Adjust the mode for one site
If colors look wrong, open More and select a mode for the current site; try Dynamic, Filter, or Filter+. Dynamic analyzes site styles and may use more resources during initial loading. Filter modes transform page colors and can alter images or already-dark areas. This is a display preference, not a promise to reduce eyestrain or improve readability for everyone.
To apply a Filter mode to one site, use this exact order in the extension: More → Only for website → Filter or Filter+. Then return to the Filter tab, adjust settings, and check text, images, and status colors on the page.
Check the site list and expected result
Reopen the extension on the affected site. Confirm it is On, the site is not excluded, and the Site list rule is correct. Reload and inspect text, images, and controls. If the page remains broken, exclude the site or restore another mode. Browser-internal and protected pages may not allow the extension to run.
Check
Do other sites work? Is the current domain excluded? After changing modes, did you check text, images, and controls?
