An account name is not a coverage decision

Distinguish the products held even within one pension or investment account. Do not infer full coverage from the account label. This guide does not merge Korean, U.S., and Japanese limits; limits in unverified jurisdictions and individual product eligibility are withheld, apart from the verified Japanese general-deposit scope below. Check the actual product and institution-level conditions with the authority for that jurisdiction.

An original lookup record

Jurisdiction and date ____ / institution’s legal name ____ / product ____ / principal ____ / interest ____ / coverage and official basis ____ / aggregation scope ____ / unresolved conditions ____. A fictional account A of 500 and account B of 300 in the same currency units total 800. This checks a missing total, not statutory coverage or a recommended allocation. If dividing 800, record allocated amounts and the unallocated balance so the total stays 800.

Before applying a rule

Check payout timing and immediately available money separately. Correct arithmetic does not establish coverage. Specific legal and product conditions remain withheld until linked official text is checked; one country’s institutional homepage does not verify another country’s system.

Verified Japanese scheme and an original fictional example

Japan FSA’s deposit-insurance guide was read on 2026-10-08. For general deposits it separates principal up to JPY 10 million per depositor per institution plus interest to the failure date from eligible settlement deposits protected in full. This Japanese scheme verifies neither current Korean or U.S. limits nor eligibility of a particular product. Two fictional Japanese general-deposit accounts with principal JPY 6 million and JPY 5 million total JPY 11 million for the same person at the same institution. Each account does not create its own JPY 10 million allowance. The extra JPY 1 million principal is not included automatically; recovery above the limit depends on the failed institution’s residual assets and other conditions. Interest treatment is separate from the principal cap. This is neither an account lookup nor a confirmed payout.
